Recent Happenings

So, when I was asked to be the Primary Chorister I was so scared..I literally cried my eyes out for like 3 hours straight. Well, I have no clue why I was so upset...this is the best calling EVER! I love singing songs with the kids!!! It reminds me of the days when I was a camp counselor; I get to play games with them and sing awesome songs!! The kids are so smart and so fun!This past Sunday we "made" Mexican Wedding Cakes (each ingredient was a song). To get these yummy desserts the kids had to sing all of the songs really really well!! Anyway, they all did a good job! So next Sunday I'm going to bring the actual cookies to them!!! This is what I'll be making:














I'm probably going to make them red, yellow and blue. A couple of weeks ago my good friend Kristina came to visit me. She and I met at Georgia Southern a couple of years ago and seriously became instant best friends. Here are some pictures of the awesome week that we had together!

Other than these fun pictures my life has been pretty busy and mostly consumed with school. My classes end next week! I am so ready to take a break and just relax. Next Thursday I'm driving to Savannah to spend the weekend with my sister!! Then I'm heading to my parents house. Poor Bill will be staying home alone for two whole weeks. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks!

Boy has it been a while since I've written anything. This is mostly because we no longer have internet at home (which will change very very soon!!!). Right now I'm just going to summer school at a community college..I'm taking a math and spanish class. Just trying to catch up and maybe graduate in a decent amount of time (it'll probably take me two more years...six years all together) I'll be glad when I'm done so we can start a family.
Bill and I are no longer the sun beam teachers!!! Now, I'm the primary chorister. Wow, I have to start learning all of the primary songs...and how to sing! Wish me luck!
Bill went hiking in the smokies today, I was super jealous..maybe he took some pictures, if he did I'll post them!

Why must it be so hard to be successful? I have had the hardest time these past few months. I just want to do well in school, but I fail. I just want to be a great teacher for the sunbeams, but I fail. Why? It's so hard to keep a positive outlook on things when nothing seems to go your way. I never seem to get any breaks (school is consuming my life..test after test after test). The only place I can go for refuge is the Temple.
Oh how I love the temple. It brings me such peace and comfort. Happiness and Joy. President Hinckley made a promise: "If you will go to the House of the Lord (regularly), you will be blessed; life will be better for you." I long for this better life and I know through glorifying God by loving Him and following His commandments...and attending that wonderful place, the temple, I will have the better life I desire.

1. I like doing math.
2. I loved math until I got into college calculus (now I just like it)...but I'm still going to stick with it and become a lovely math teacher.
3. I love sweets, it's my downfall I guess...

6. I cry very easily all of the time.
7. I used to be able to dive, but I can't anymore...now I just end up doing belly flops when I try to dive into water. :) ouch
8. I don't like walking on cracks in the side walks.
9. I also don't like walking on those round sewer caps that are in the road, I'm afraid I'll fall in.

11. I love falling asleep, but hate waking up.

19. I don't like UGG boots, I call them UGGly boots. I have a pair though...that I wear for warmth, not for style. I have been wearing my UGGly boots a lot lately...it's cold here.
20. I like to rub my hands/feet/face on soft things... i.e. bed sheets
21. Bill's eyes were the first thing I noticed about him. He has the most amazing eyes in the world...yeah!
22. I don't like to wear a lot of jewelry.. just a couple of rings and sometimes earrings or a necklace.
23. I want to have 6 kids. I would want more, but we have to compromise, right?
24. I love planning activities and parties, I haven't been able to do it since I moved here and it depresses me!

Happy New Year

New Year's Eve is my birthday and my parents took me to a very nice restaurant to celebrate!!! It's called Ruth's Chris. Boy was it soooo good!!! We all got a nice yummy steak with some sides and then a delicious dessert.

Merry Christmas

We spent half of our Christmas break in Nashville with Bill's family, and then the rest in Indiana with my family. Our first Christmas together was very nice!!! I love Christmas so much, Bill didn't get much sleep Christmas Eve because I kept him up ALL night!! I just couldn't calm down, I was SO excited...it was CHRISTMAS! We really had a blast with his family. The house was packed, but it was music to my ears. We also had a lot of fun with my family. I was expecting to see snow, but the temperature decided to be very hot..so all of the snow melted. It didn't snow again until we left.GRR!!! Here are some pictures from our adventures!

Worst Week Ever

Well this week has been the worst week ever!!!!! Monday night while we should have been sleeping nicely and comfyly (hee hee) my stomach decided to SCREAM at me. I woke Bill up and told him something was very wrong!!! Then I ran....to the porcelain throne!!!! We became friends, the procelain throne and I. Whew, it was pure torture. Being sick is completely and utterly not fun. But, I had the most amazing Nurse anyone could ask for. Who you might ask.. Well, he's strong handsome and perfect..Yep, Bill took such good care of me. He helped me get in and out of bed, he held my cup while I drank what I could. He cleaned up any mess I made (which were big) ...he even went to the store at 4 am to get me ginger ale. Then again at 6 am to get me straws. Well anyway, I'm glad that's over!! I feel much better!! I'm so glad that Bill was here to take care of me!! I'm so lucky to have him! Now, I can look forward to Christmas and seeing my family!!!

Happy Birthday to Bill

Last week was Bill's 26th Birthday!! He enjoyed his birthday!!! It's been a tradition in his family to put up the Christmas tree on his birthday, so I had to wait what seemed like forever to put up our tree. I convinced him to let us put up the tree the day before actually...and then we decorated it on his birthday!!! He spoils me!!

Then at Midnight I surprised Bill with his birthday cake. I also invited Bill's good friend Eric over to celebrate with us. Eric is graduating in May and leaving us, so I want Bill to spend as much time with him before he goes out in the real world....

















Here is Bill teaching Eric how to do a Tim Tam Slam. While Bill was on his mission in Australia, tim tam slams were a common thing so he loves them. It's just a chocolate bar (very tasty i might add) and you bite the ends off and suck hot milo through it like a straw until the chocolate melts then

eat it...it's very messy, but oh so good!

Then when we woke up the next day and we decorated our tree!! It was so fun!!!

Christmas is my favorite time of year, I'm so thankful that I get to spend it with Bill...this is our first Christmas together!

I forget all of the time to write down what Bill and I have been up to lately! Well, this past weekend my girlfriends and I (Bill came too) went to see the movie Twilight.. Oh my goodness, I really liked the movie..of course some things were left out from the book; but overall I loved it! My friends and I were just going crazy waiting to see the movie..it was like we were teen girls waiting for the most anticipated romance of all time to show on screen, when it finally came we melted at the first glance of Edward's eyes. Poor Bill had to listen to every girl sitting in that theater sighing and whispering, although he has spent the past 4 months reading the book vicariously through me so he should understand!!! After the movie was finished I came straight home and started reading it...again, I just had to experience it again. Hopefully during Thanksgiving my mother-in-law will want to see, so I can see it again...SCORE!!! :)

Halloween

Last night we went to a Halloween party and had a blast!! Bill and I dressed up as Gomez and Morticia Addams. I took an old dress that I've had forever and stitched some fabric on the bottom and added a sweater over the top, wore a wig and tada I was Morticia!!! Bill had a suit so we just got him a fake mustache and wa la..he was Gomez! The party was so fun, we played this game where you have to act out an occupation, location, and murder weapon so people on your team can guess what it is!! I really get in to any kinds of games so it was a blast!! Then we had a doughnut eating contest, Bill dominated...but I got him all stickey!!! The food was delicious! I've never had homemade rootbeer...it's made with rootbeer extract and dry ice!! Who'd of thought!! It was so cool, it was smoking!! It tasted just like rootbeer you buy from the store!! I made brownies in cupcakes and put orange frosting on top of them! Anyway, we had a very fun Halloween with our friends!!

I was acting out using the bathroom..this is was the place..the weapon was a chicken bone, but we didn't get a picture of me gnawing on a chicken bone!! Oh, and I accidentally ripped the bottom of my dress!!! (at least my costume lasted for a little while!! tee hee)

Football time in Tennessee

Last weekend Bill and I went to the football game. Bill had a lot of fun, it was ok for me.. I was very very cold!!!! Our team lost pretty badly to Alabama, but the band did a really good job. (Honestly, I only go to games to see the band!!!)I'm bundled trying to stay warm!

Well, It's getting chilly here in Knoxville. Last night we both were so cold. We turned the heat on but it didn't do much. Bill's been sick so I'm sure the the cold doesn't help him any (poor baby). So Bill make some delicious Chili today. It was just like I remember my mom making. It warmed us both up.

A fun Weekend with the family.

For Fall Break we traveled twelve hours from Knoxville to Athens GA to pick up my mom from a conference and from there on to my parent's house in south GA. It was a very long day and Bill was exhausted at the end of the trip. Friday we went to Valdosta and I got a hair cut. it was AMAZING!! On Saturday Bill and My dad killed 12 chickens and My mom and I de-boned them and canned the meat. Bill actually killed 3 chickens on his own. I don't want to bore anyone with the gross pictures. So here's a few of the nicer ones.

Tuesdays, I have an 8 am class...normally I wake up, get ready, eat and then leave. Bill stays in bed and sometimes eats with me. But today was different!!! Today Bill woke me up around 6 (which is when I usually wake up) and I smelled eggs and bacon!!! He had made breakfast!!! Unfortunately Bill had been awake since 3 this morning, so he figured he'd make me a hot breakfast instead of the usual bagel or cereal!! I was sooo happy when i smelled the yumminess of eggs and bacon!!! I love him so much!! He is going on three hours of sleep today!! He'll sleep good tonight, I hope.

OutVOLS - Night Out on campus

We started out at the Greek Orthodox Church for the Greek Fest! Food was sooo good!! My favorite was Baklava, which is the only name I remember or else I would describe all of the other pastries we had! After that we went to an activity UT was having called OutVOLS VOLnight Long! We went mechanical calf roping, mechanical bull riding, Jousting, sang karaoke, and went bowling. We had sooo much fun!!! We stayed out until 1:30 in the morning, we were very tired saturday to say the least!!!
