Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Hello blogger friends this is Bill. In a response to castleink.com I am describing how I reduce, reuse, and recycle. Enjoy!

Home-grown food leads to a cleaner world. In a world of shrink-wrapped, canned, boxed, bagged, and not to mention overly processed food, one can be virtually buried alive with the waste produced from store-bought meals. One way I help to reduce, reuse, and recycle is to incorporate as much home-grown, home-canned food into my meals as I can. It starts with meat. I help my wife's parents butcher their chickens, turkeys and rabbits. First, these animals have been fed the best grain, grown up in a free-range environment, and butchered in a quick, humane and painless way. They are free from chemicals many mass-producers pump into their produce. The meat is then pressure-canned in glass jars and stored for use whenever we're ready. We also can fruits and vegetables in the same manner; the vegetables and fruit are free from any harsh chemicals or insecticides. All these canned goods are put into glass jars. After we have a meal using these cans they are washed and put away for the next batch of canning. Virtually NO WASTE going to the landfill! A better tasting way to make the planet a little greener.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

We have some decisions to make... I am so excited for Bill, he auditioned for 4 graduate schools this past month and in a couple of weeks we will hear back from them. Then it will be decision making time. We're just praying for options so we can weigh them out and pray for the best location. Well, here are the potential locations of our future residence:

I really liked Phoenix, the people seemed nice, the school is massive and it has a great program for me if I want to continue my education!!! Which I most definitely do! HA! The music program here is amazing, the tuba professor is one of the most well known dudes in the tuba world, Sam Pilafian...have you heard of him? I only know him because of Bill! haha!



Louisiana State University is in Baton Rouge. If we live here I wouldn't mind visiting New Orleans which is like an hour and a half away. Mardi Gras will be interesting to experience.. right?!? This school also has a great music program and another top notch tuba prof. and a really good program for me :)



Wisconsin. Oh the fun I would have playing in the snow. Another great music program and amazing tuba prof, and something for me! Another bonus to this school is that it is near an Army reserve band...meaning Bill could play for the Army still. Did I mentioned that it snows here?!!?! I love snow. Only downfall... listening to Wisconsin people talk, no offense to any natives (my family often sounds exactly the same) but they drive me nuts sometimes!!!! HAHA!

And last but NOT least:

This is in Bowling Green, Ohio. This is the closest school to my family. Seriously, I would only have to drive about an hour and a half to see my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! This school, just like the others, has a great music program and prof! It also will probably have snow. So, I'm thrilled!!

Bill did really well on his auditions, now we just wait and hope he is accepted somewhere great! Granted, all of these schools are great, but we just want to best one for us! I am scared and excited all at the same time!
